WonderFarm: It starts with a seed...

WonderFarm is a local sustainability education centre. The centre has a focus on food production but also runs other sustainability programs. Children learn about the benefits of fresh food and plant their own seedlings, coming back semi-regularly to visit and maintain their garden patch. Children can have fun while learning about farming, recycling, and sustainability in general.

A prototype helped to make communication easier between the users and the student researchers. The system map shows some of the context and influence a project like WonderFarm could have in a community. Stills from the WonderFarm movie follow. Hey look guys! I grew this by myself! I learnt how to do it from Wonderfarm! You ever been to Wonderfarm? My apple is so big, red, and juicy, it's better than the ones in the market. "Wonderfarm is where we can learn how to grow our own food." First you will need a pot! Now grab those seeds! They will grow into trees. Don't forget to water your plant or it won't grow! Now give it a bit of sun.  Wow! It's growing so quickly! "Ahmed, where did you say you went again?" "Hmm? Oh, it's Wonderfarm."
