The community of Broadmeadows shops at Olsen Place on a daily basis, but there is little community interaction outside the commercial transactions. To change the dynamics and make it a more family-friendly area there needs to be things for kids to do. This playground is a place where kids can play whilst parents shop or have coffee. It also doubles as a seating area for older visitors to this busy shopping strip. The design itself references the Turkish culture prevalent in the area.
