Desirability and adaptability for the EBD ShareCar.
ct_2to4

The 2two4 concept vehicle is a proposal for the EBD for a modular urban electric vehicle that can be extended in length and transformed from a sleek and zippy 2 seater into a spacious 4 seater. At the flick of a switch the 600mm extension gives the user an additional 2 seats in the rear which gives the user and passengers choice, freedom and a variety of vehicle sizes for a variety of days, adventures and lifestyles. The 2two4 is all about small change. The 600mm saved when not in use on a small scale is a minimal difference, however, with thousands of cars on the road multiplied by the space saved it would be extremely beneficial and ultimately the space saved could be a critical break through for the carbon trading compliance by the automotive industry.

Shortlisted for the VACC Target 2020 'Car of the Future', 2009.

In the words of the designer: A personal form of transport is needed for the community to commute through the EBD and CBD limits. Certain needs will have to be taken into account for the types of groups living within the village.  As there is no privately owned transportation, the module has to be able to cater for the needs of a variety of groups. Families, surfers and travellers, for example, may need the extra space to be able to carry luggage, accessories, belongings etc. The transportation unit must also be able to cater for peak hour times in and out of the EBD.
