In the designer's words:

The Oasis upright vegetable garden is a sustainable, user-friendly and space-efficient alternative to traditional soil-bound gardens and existing vertical gardens.  Utilising both natural sunlight and rain collected from the roof, it is a modular eco-system independent of mains supplies.  The connection of a solar-powered pump and battery system enables a constant cycle of liquid to the plants.  The individual grow boxes provide holes for various additional inserts to cater for stake- or trellis-dependent vegetables such as baby pumpkins.  Configuring the modular growing panels allows users to grow the food they prefer.
