What if the high environmental-impact areas of houses were shared among neighbours?

What if a sustainable future just meant reconfiguring the utility spaces of our homes – the laundries, kitchens and bathrooms – the spaces of water and gas and electricity? Shared Spaces asks this question, exposing the parts of the home that have the most environmental impact. The project suggests that sustainability could be about an opening of relationships between neighbours, shared services, comfortable kitchens, shared solar power generation, waste management and gardening, whilst still maintaining the privacy of a family, bedroom and living room.
