Glimpsing the new EcoCity - how might we live better and consume less?

The EBD Design Studios ran in all four participating universities - RMIT, Swinburne, Monash and the University of Melbourne - in Semester 2, 2008. The students, from varying design disciplines, produced a wide and complex range of work. The EBD, as an existing and proposed site development, was explored in Architecture, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Visual Communication, Systems & Service Design and Urban Planning studios.
The student proposals encompass a range of scales, from envisioning the whole site to imagining the details of a productive playground. Glimpses of the work were presented during the EcoCity Exhibition in February 2009, but the full range can be explored in the EBD Design Studios.
